An independent applied research and engineering studio.
Cajun Data works on retrieval and knowledge systems: the machinery that turns changing information into dependable, inspectable outputs.
We are an independent applied research and engineering studio focused on retrieval and knowledge systems. We study the full path from source ingestion and knowledge representation through retrieval, ranking, context construction, grounded outputs, and evaluation.
The focus is not simply producing answers from documents. The work centers on engineering complete systems whose behavior can be measured, inspected, and trusted.
Architectural claims should be supported by measurable results. Our goal is practical engineering evidence: reproducible benchmarks, open tools, reference implementations, and clear accounts of what a system can, and cannot, do.
- +Benchmarks and experiments designed to be reproduced, not just believed.
- +Failures diagnosed and limitations documented alongside findings.
- +Architectures evaluated on accessible hardware: workstations, modest servers, consumer GPUs, ordinary cloud.
- +The method in practice: ml-lab-template ↗, our reproducible structure for experiments.
Cajun Data is run by Weldon, an engineer based in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The studio is independent by design: no platform to sell, no vendor allegiances, and no pressure to make results look better than they are.
